EMDR & Brainspotting

Begin to Heal from Trauma

Trauma can leave lasting effects on your mind, body, and emotions, affecting how you think, feel, and interact with the world around you. You may feel stuck in patterns of fear, anxiety, or emotional reactivity—or you might feel numb, disconnected, and unsure of how to move forward. Trauma therapy provides a safe, supportive space to process your experiences, rebuild your sense of safety, and move toward healing and wholeness.

I specialize in trauma therapy that goes beyond talking alone, using powerful, evidence-based approaches like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and innovative approaches like Brainspotting to help you access and process deeply held pain at its root.

What is EMDR?

EMDR is a structured therapy that helps people process and begin to heal from trauma by activating the brain’s natural ability to process memories. In EMDR, we focus on specific memories or experiences that have caused distress. Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, your brain can reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional charge and helping you integrate them in a way that feels less overwhelming.

EMDR can help you:

  • Reduce the intensity of traumatic memories.

  • Relieve symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

  • Reframe negative beliefs tied to past experiences.

  • Create a sense of calm and resolution.

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is another therapeutic tool for emotional healing and personal growth. It works by identifying and processing emotional pain stored in the brain and body. During a Brainspotting session, we use a tool like a pointer or your own gaze to identify “brainspots,” or eye positions that connect to emotional or physical tension. This process helps unlock your brain’s natural ability to process and “rewire” itself in a way that can result in deep-level transformation.

Brainspotting can help you:

  • Bypass the overthinking mind and tap directly into the emotional brain.

  • Access trauma stored in the body for deep healing.

  • Help with trauma, anxiety, grief, and other unresolved emotions, reactions and negative thought patterns.

Why These Methods Work

Trauma is often stored in parts of the brain and body that are less accessible through traditional talk therapy alone. EMDR and Brainspotting provide direct, focused ways to target and process trauma and painful emotions, helping you resolve feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed, or reactive.

These methods work at your pace, and I’ll guide you in a way that feels safe and empowering.
